Broadcast Project Manager


The Broadcast Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day project operations. The Broadcast Project Manager assists project managers with writing project scopes and developing project schedules, estimates/budgets, risk mitigation plans and issue resolution. This role also assists the department Director in ensuring the delivery framework and policies and procedures are adhered to by the entire PMO team. The Broadcast Project Manager will also undertake their own projects meeting the same expections as the entire team. The role requires an understanding of structured project delivery methodologies, vendor management and customer management in challenging environments.


  • Manage day-to-day project operations
  • Facilitate weekly project, risk and issue and forecast review meetings
  • First line of escalation across all projects in the PMO
  • Interview and hire staff as needed
  • Manage a team of Integration Staff
  • Provide input into performance reviews for all PMO staff
  • Balance team schedule and time off requests
  • Ensure project managers are adhering to PMO standards/practices/polices
  • Mentor other project managers and project coordinators
  • Assist project managers in writing statements of work and building project schedules
  • Manage project through the initiation, planning, execution and closure phases  
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling projects
  • Facilitate successful project definition, planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, and lead high performance project teams
  •  Manage projects within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints with minimal oversight from Management
  •  Create and execute project schedules and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and project demands
  •  Manage day-to-day project team activities and stakeholder communications
  •  Identify project resource needs, obtain necessary resources, define project team roles, and ensure healthy team dynamics
  •  Coordinate the efforts of team members from multiple groups into a coordinated project effort
  •  Provide overall management direction for project and be accountable for project results
  •  Manage project schedule and budget against baseline
  •  Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes are documented and approved through the change order process
  •  Proactively identify project issues and risks and create successful action plans for resolving issues and mitigating risks; minimize project exposure and risk
  •  Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to management, project team and other project stakeholders
  •  Effectively facilitate Lessons Learned sessions after project delivery in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  •  Proactively set and manage project stakeholder expectations
  •  Build strong relationships with customers and develop a deep understanding of their objective
  •   Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions as appropriate
  •  Facilitating open communications and manage meetings that foster a collaborative environment between internal, customer and third party project team members.
  •  Tracking actual hours against those hours budgeted in the original estimate to asses project success and will produce and/or compile close out documentation and training manuals to confirm implementation completion with the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate
  •  Occasional night and weekend work


  • 7+ years experience working as a Project Manager
  • Expert knowledge of PM methodology, tools and techniques
  • Expert understanding of organizational environment, delivery framework and policies and procedures
  • Advanced leadership and general management skills
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, conflict resolution capabilities
  • Self-motivated, able to apply best practices and to contribute to continual improvement initiatives
  • Problem solving and prioritization abilities to focus on core deliverables to keep projects on track
  • Expert Microsoft Project skills
  • Visio Experience, including creation and reading
  • Exceptional organization, meeting management and presentation skills
  • Experience in Tracking Project Financials – estimation, budgeting, tracking, cost containment, project P&L reporting
  • Experience with Broadcast Integrations a plus


·        Bachelor degree in business or related field

·        Project Management certification preferred
